A 42 km and 4-day hike to Machu Picchu. Climb from 2500 meter slowly up to 4200 at the Warmiwanusca Pass, drop down to 3000 meter, up again to 3800 meter and down again to 2500 meter. Be astonished by the lovely views at the Sun gate. It is worth every step you take.

This program starts at Cuzco.

Program

Day 1: From Cuzco to km 82 at the railroad track and hike up to Warmiwanusca Pass
Day 2: Second part Warmiwanusca Pass and down
Day 3: To Winay Wayna
Day 4: To Machu Picchu

Highlights

This trail is a highlight by itself and one to never forget. Walking here is a both natural and cultural experience. 

Degree of difficulty

It is a hard job. The 1000`s of steps make your knees weak and the hight can cause you difficulties. Aclamatise in Cuzco before heading to the Inca Trail.
