Nice colony of Magel
lan penguins on Isla Margarita, an island close to Punta Arenas. You can walk amidst the penguins and depending the season see them guard their eggs or feed their young.

Program

From Punta Arenas you can visit a penguin colony on Magdalena Island in the Magellan Street in a tour of around 6 hours. The ferry crossing takes about 2 hours and you have the chance to see albatrosses, terns and dolphins. This tour is not only a visual festival but also a world of smell and sound. In the season, more than 55,000 Magellan penguin couples breed here, the total number of penguins is still increasing as soon as the chicks are born. You are about one hour on the island, where you can walk between the penguins.
